Rural Renewal Stream

Lac La Biche County is one of the designated communities under the Rural Renewal Stream (RRS) of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).

This program helps to connect local businesses with qualified newcomers to Canada, sometimes expediting costly and time-consuming processes.

The Government of Alberta introduced changes to the RRS in November 2025.  This includes a yearly limit on the number of candidates that Lac La Biche County can endorse.  As of January 30, 2026, Lac La Biche County has reached its limit of eleven (11) Candidate Endorsement Letters for 2026.  Intake of applications is closed until further notice.

For RRS candidates: If you receive an “Invitation to Apply” to the AAIP-RRS from the Government of Alberta and you have an RRS “Candidate Endorsement Letter” from Lac La Biche County that has expired, or will expire within 90 days, please contact the County by telephone at: 780-623-1747, or by email: ruralrenewal@laclabichecounty.com.
