Covid-19 Regulations

UPDATE - February 10, 2022

On February 7, 2022, the provincial government announced changes to COVID-19 health restrictions. Our operations team have reviewed the measures and guidance documents and assessed operations based on the current information available from the province. Effective February 8, 2022, changes to County recreation facilities include:

  • Food and drink are allowed in seated areas, including arena bleachers and customer seating areas throughout the facility. There is a maximum of 10 people allowed per table.
  • Adult group activities are permitted. Participants will be required to screen for symptoms.
  • The next session of fitness classes begins March 7, 2022 and will have in-person and virtual options.
  • Public/family swim capacities lifted, and lane swim bookings are no longer required.
  • Aquatics fitness classes will resume in April.
  • Adult drop-in soccer will begin Wednesday, February 9 and run Wednesdays from 8:30-10 pm and Sundays from 7-9 pm. Drop-in basketball will begin Tuesday, February 15 and run Tuesdays and Fridays from 7-9 pm. Adult drop in pickleball will begin February 14 and run Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-11:30 am.
  • Drop-in ice times will be added starting February 14 or continue as open ice times with capacity/cohort limitations lifted.
  • FCSS adult programs will move to in-person as they are scheduled.
  • Face masks are still required in public areas throughout the facility (with exception of children under 12 years of age starting Feb 14).

Lac La Biche County will continue to review how these changes impact our operations. When the province make announcements, it is often several days before the details and clarifications are released. 

As further information related to the provincial guidelines received, we will communicate more information.

Bill Payment Options 

McArthur Place

  • After 1 pm on September 20, 2021 (after nominations close for the upcoming Municipal Election), the public will have limited access to McArthur Place, except by appointment or ringing the doorbell available on the main level. Please call 780-623-1747 to arrange an appointment or ring the buzzer in-person.
  • Mandatory masking is in place province-wide, and required in all County facilities (unless exemptions for specific activities apply). 
  • Please avoid visiting County facilities if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been a close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19 according to Alberta Health Services' guidelines.
  • If you plan to meet with a County staff member, it is preferred to contact them by phone, email, or other virtual methods. Please consult our online staff directory, or call 780-623-1747 for assistance.

County Centre

  • The public will have limited access to County Centre starting September 20, 2021, except by appointment. Please call 780-623-1747 to arrange an appointment.
  • Mandatory masking is in place province-wide, and required in all County facilities (unless exemptions for specific activities apply). 
  • Please avoid visiting County facilities if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been a close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19 according to Alberta Health Services' guidelines.
