Cameras at intersections of 102 Street & Main Street and 103 Street & Main Street now active
In addition to the cameras already installed at the intersection of 101 Street & Main Street in the hamlet of Lac La Biche, there are now active cameras at the intersections of 102 Street & Main Street (near Scotia Bank) and 103 Street & Main Street (the Squirrely's intersection).
Recordings will only be accessible to the County’s Information Technology and Enforcement Services departments, along with the RCMP. No other County employee has access to the recordings, recordings cannot be released to the public (as per the provincial Freedom of Information and Protection Act), and recordings are kept for 30 days.
The cameras are only for enforcement related to pedestrians on sidewalks and nearby roads, and will only be consulted after the fact—no one will be monitoring the cameras in real time. The cameras are not intended for traffic enforcement.
