Old Conklin Road Updates: Travel Currently Not Recommended
Curent Situation (last updated: approx. 5:00 pm, July 14)
Due to July 13’s storm, travel along the Old Conklin Road is currently not recommended. The stretch of road impacted is approximately kilometre 18 to kilometre 70. County crews and partners are working to clear the road as quickly as possible.
This afternoon, County staff conducted air and ground patrols of the Old Conklin Road between km marker 18 and 70. We’re happy to report that we did not observe any persons trapped or in need of assistance. Progress on the road clearing is still continuing, with crews and heavy machinery working to clear debris and restore the road to normal driving conditions.
This work is expected to take place all of Saturday, and potentially into Sunday. We appreciate your patience while we complete the road clearing.
We’d like to thank County staff and Alberta Agriculture & Forestry staff for their hard work throughout the day today, and for ensuring our residents’ safety.
