Lara Seeking Farmland for Research Purposes

Post Date:03/02/2017 8:55 AM

The Lakeland Agricultural Research Association (LARA) is a producer-directed not-for-profit agricultural association providing unbiased, applied research and extension to the producers of Lac La Biche County.

Each year, LARA establishes over 50 small plot research trials at various locations that include cereal and pulse variety trials, herbicide trials, fertility trials, fungicide trials as well as field-scale and large plot demonstrations.

LARA is currently looking for 1 to 2 acres of farmland for our research and demonstration plots in Lac La Biche County for the 2017 growing season. As the trials to be established include cereal variety trials, the land needs to be canola or pulse crop stubble. The land should be relatively flat to ensure accurate research results can be obtained and highway frontage is preferred. LARA will compensate for the use of the land upon discussion with the land owner.

Please visit our website to learn more about the research and demonstration we do at www.laraonline.ca.

If you have any questions or require more information, please contact Alyssa Krone at 780.826.7260 or send an e-mail to livestock.lara@mcsnet.ca.
